Non-league football in England is competed over Seven steps.  The Football Conference (or Blue Square Premier as it's now known) which feeds the professional Football League is competed by the best non-league clubs nationally and this is step One; regional County leagues make up step Seven and as clubs progress through the steps they compete further afield and are also required to meet higher standards of ground grading. There are currently clubs represeting the West Herts area competing at Step Three (Southern League), step Five (Spartan South Midlands Premier), step Six (Spartan South Midlands Division One), step Seven (Spartan South Midlands Division Two and Herts Senior County League) and beyond as numerous local clubs compete in the West Herts League which feeds step Seven. The West Herts League consists of many 'A' and 'B' teams of clubs competing in higher leagues, however there are many more clubs competing solely in the West Herts League and while it used to be common for one or two clubs to dominate this league, in the last six years there have been five different clubs to win the Premier Division championship and six different clubs winning the leagues Senior Cup competition.

Regular updates are made to this website in an attempt to keep it interesting, feel free to use the forum or submit reports for the "results round-up" blog. I will be happy to add photos, reports or any news or information about clubs or leagues so if there is something you want to see added to this site then just get in touch. This site does not currently feature any junior, ladies or Sunday league football, if you would like to submit reports/round-ups for these then please get in touch.
